What started in a garage in 1913 with just a few passionate people making toy balloons has grown into a full-on toy adventure! Now based in Ashland, Ohio, and celebrating over 110 years of fun, Hedstrom’s mission has always been to help kids and families connect, play, imagine, and create memories that last a lifetime.
And guess what? We’ve got even more to celebrate! We’re thrilled to welcome What Kids Want into our family, joining forces to create a toy company that’s bigger, bolder, and more fun than ever before! Together, we’re bringing you an even bigger world of toys, designed to spark creativity, giggles, and playtime joy.

Hedstrom has been recognized as a Giga Guru through Walmart’s Project Gigatron. Through this initiative, the retail giant seeks to reduce emissions in the global value chain by 1 billion metric tons–a gigaton– by the end of 2023 and we’re proud to do our part in creating a better future.
Packaging Design
In our ongoing effort to leave the planet better than we found it, we continue to invest in new packaging options that create less waste. All of our display boxes are made of cardboard that can be processed at your nearest recycling facility after they’ve been opened and the fun has begun!
